Project Graduate is a partnership of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln with the goal of helping adults in Sangamon county return to college.
It is estimated that more than 20% of adults have some college credit but no degree. In an economy that offers more opportunity and security to individuals with a postsecondary credential or degree, working-age adults are increasingly returning to school.
But the process can be overwhelming and intimidating for those who have been out of school for some time. Not only is it harder to figure out where to start the process when you don’t have the help of a high school counselor, but balancing work and life and school takes careful planning. The college access experts at the Illinois Student Assistance Commission can help you through that process. To help you get started, below are the first steps.
